Growing House Plants -
Fertilising
House plants require a balanced
environment to ensure healthy growth. They may suffer and have a shock reaction
to your homes environment if it is different to what they have been used to.
Here are several tips to
help condition the plants to your environment.
Fertilizing requirements
will depend on the type of plant, the desired growth rate, sunlight level, planting
media, the frequency of watering and the type of fertilizer you plan to use.
Normal healthy growing plants
will benefit from a dose of fertilizer around every two months. Do not give
fertilizer to any dormant plants. Only use in the growing season.
Over-fertilizing will be
indicated by burned or dried leaf margins and wilted plants.
