Laying Turf
This sequence of short guides
will help to get the best results for your new lawn. Using the turfing method
to create a lawn is an almost instant result, and it is important to plan things
correctly.
Step 4:
Your New Lawn
After all the hard work,
there are several important things to remember before you can use you new lawn.
Do not walk too much on
the newly laid turf until it has rooted down into the soil, which could take
several weeks.
You can walk on boards if
necessary, but move them around in placement on a regular basis, and remove
them when not in use, to avoid damaging the new grass. Give the grass frequent
trims once it starts growing, using a light mower at first, such as a hover
mower, rather than a heavy model.
Keep the blades set high
to start with, never cutting too short, and collect all the clippings.
